Solaris takes the "hassle" out of Solar

The installation of a commercial photovoltaic project requires extensive planning and forethought. Numerous factors need to be taken into consideration and various options evaluated to achieve the best possible solution.

Our Solaris team of experts will visit your site to conduct an indepth analysis of your existing electrical consumption as well as your future requirements.

We use 22 year historical meterological data obtained from NASA to determine the insolation (i.e. the power of the sun) in your area to assist us in calculating the infrastructure required to achieve your goals and to provide a solar solution tailored specifically for you.

We have sophisticated proprietary software programs and spreadsheets to guide us through the process.

Once all the data has been captured, a comprehensive report is provided to the client along with a detailed costing and proposed timeframe for the installation and completion of project.

We also explore various ways to finance the project. These include traditional bank financing, government partnerships, equity raising through venture capital and debt structuring through notes or bonds.

We can also look at a "zero funding/consumption only" option where the client has no upfront capital expenditure and only pays for the electricity generated by the solar plant. This option depends on a number of factors including the credit worthiness of the client, the extent and duration of the electricity consumption and the availability and willingness of venture capitalists or financial institutions to participate in such a scheme. Solaris can assist the client in securing these deals and facilitating an agreement between the parties if desired.

There are numerous options and decisions that need to be made. To ensure that every avenue is explored and all contingencies are considered, our Solaris team will go through a structured consultative process which involves a number of formal phases.

Initial Analysis

This includes collecting information about the client's existing infrastructure, short and long term energy needs, budgets, time frames and expectations. The needs analysis can be formal, extensive and time consuming or it can be informal, narrowly focused and quick – depending on the size and scope of the project. It often involves the use of structured questionnaires, on site visits and interviews with key personnel.

Feasibility Study

The information gathered from the needs analysis is combined with 22 year meteorology and insolation data (obtained from NASA’s database) for the proposed site. This data is fed into our proprietary software to calculate an expected “per KWh” price.

Cost Estimate

Solaris will engage our key partners to provide a detailed cost estimate for the client as well as a project plan and timeline.

Project Finance

We will advise the client regarding carbon credits, government subsidies and incentives as well as various options  available to finance the project.

Project Management

Solaris will represent the client on-site and manage the project until completion.
